*** WHAT ABOUT LAMBDA!!!!!!!***
Submitted by Paidion (not verified) on Tue, 06/07/2011 - 19:26.
Neil, what you do you want to know about lambda? Here is lambda:
λ λ λ λ λ λ λ λ λ λ λ λ λ λ λ λ λ λ λ λ λ
It has been mentioned that Alt955 prints a lamda if your platform is Windows XP.
In Windows 7, you can bring up the character map and find lambda on the bottom row fifth character, and copy it.
It appears that there on Windows 7, there is no way to print lambda or the rest of the Greek alphabet.

I have Vista Ultimate x86, on a laptop. I'm trying to find the combination for lowercase "Mu" (Greek). None mentioned above works.

Alt230 works with the Window 7 platform. So I suspect it would work with your Vista Ultimate as well.

ALT-230 works even on Windows 7, and so I am sure it would work on Vista.
I have printed the following using ALT-230:
µ µ µ µ µ µ

On my system,
ALT230 prints this "Š"
ALT956 prints this "╝"

I have 2 things to say; 1- there is no ALT 956 code or whatever on there. 2- you have to pu a space between ALT and the numbers.

Anon, Alt230 will print lowercase "mu" (µ).
I just printed it using that method between the parentheses above. My platform is Windows 7, but I suspect it would work on Vista Ultimate as well.

i wan the alt code of xi but nothing is working :(
Submitted by Paidion (not verified) on Mon, 07/18/2011 - 15:07.
What platform are you using?
On Windows 7, there is no ALT code for xi(ξ). However, you can print it by bringing up the character map. You can then click on the ξ and copy it to the clipboard. Then you can simply insert it where you want.

It looks like you can convert the U+ codes in character map from hex to decimal and use that with ALT+ keystrokes.
For instance, uppercase Delta is U+0394 as described in Character Map. Converting 394 from hex to decimal gives 916, so ALT+0916 gives the uppercase Delta character (at least with Vista and my locale).

ASCII characters for HTML allow you to use many characters not included in an english keyboard, including the greek alphabet..To make the right character appear on the page, you start with an ampersand (&) and a pound sign (#), followed by a 3-digit number, and ending with a semicolon (;)..Click here, to read more
